Outdoor theatre fun in rural settings

By Surrey and Hants News in Entertainment

To enjoy outdoor theatre on a balmy summer evening, a peaceful setting is essential.

That is why the Rude Mechanical Theatre Company heads for small rural communities when staging productions.

This year’s tour, of a new romantic comedy play called The Commercial Traveller, visits the Haslemere Museum garden on June 10, Ropley, Sheet and Milland recreation grounds on June 17, July 16 and August 3 respectively, and Selborne Primary School field on July 7.

All the shows start at 7.30pm, with picnicking beginning at 6pm. Audience members should take low-backed chairs plus warm and waterproof clothes in case of bad weather.

For tickets (£16 adults, £15 seniors, £12 students, £9 children, £40 families), visit www.therudemechanicaltheatre.co.uk; also, for the Haslemere show, call 01428 642161.
