Haslemere-based architects One-World Design has been shortlisted for a national award for its design of a new London bridge.

The Cremorne (Diamond Jubilee) Footbridge, designed by Lower Street-based One-World Design, has been shortlisted in the best new bridge concept design category in the 2024 New Civil Engineer (NCE) Bridges Awards. The national design and engineering awards organised by the NCE – the magazine of the Institution of Civil Engineers – will take place in July.

The near 300-metre long footbridge designed to span the River Thames with three intersecting pairs of steel arches has planning consent and foundations in the ground. The project is included in Wandsworth Council’s 15-year plan. The Mayor of London has previously expressed his support for the proposal, which it is hoped will be completed within the next five years.
