Beech Village Hall is launching its film night initiative The Screen by the Green on May 10.

It will feature biographical drama One Life (12A) starring Anthony Hopkins, Johnny Flynn and Helena Bonham Carter.

One Life tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London stockbroker who rescued more than 600 predominantly Jewish children from the Nazis in the lead-up to the Second World War.

Organiser Joanna Curtis said: “The Beech social committee is incredibly excited to bring The Screen by the Green to Beech Village Hall.

“Our aim is to create a space where our local communities can come together and enjoy the magic of cinema. We believe that the screening of One Life is the perfect way to launch this initiative, which we plan to run monthly from September.”

There will be a bar and free parking. To book tickets visit www.beechvillage.org.uk
